TRISECKS: FEMALE DOMINANCE
Alpha-Males, in short supply, form small harems of 1 or more Female/Beta-Male teams. While he is the focal point of the "family unit", the Alpha-Male is not the dominant member. Since Females outnumber Betas 2-to-1, they face heavy competition to successfully reproduce. Over the millennia, natural selection has allowed only the strongest and most perfect physical specimens among the Females to win the Beta-Males and pass on their superior genetic material.
